Randy Jackson's wife files for divorce and asks for alimony

By Tolison & Williams / October 3, 2014

Divorce can affect anyone from all walks of life ,and this case is no exception. Randy Jackson has become involved in a divorce. Jackson is known to many Colorado residents as a popular former "American Idol" judge. His wife filed for divorce on a recent Friday and listed their separation date as September 11.

Randy Jackson was a judge on the popular talent show for 12 seasons. A number of recording artists, including Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson, were able to use the show as a platform to launch their careers. After almost 19 years of marriage, the couple has decided to call it quits. They got married back in 1995, and now they are reportedly divorcing due to irreconcilable differences.

Randy Jackson and his wife have two children, and their youngest is the age of 17. The wife is requesting custody and is also asking for spousal support from Jackson. She is also requesting for her last name to be changed back to her maiden name. No other information about the divorce has been reported.

Divorce can be a frustrating and challenging experience for spouses to go through, including those who have a lot of wealth. Celebrities and others who are more well-off have many assets on the table, and that can make it even more challenging. When involved in an intense divorce filled with a number of issues, litigation may be the only resolution. If litigation cannot be avoided, spouses may want to obtain as much knowledge as possible about state laws before proceeding through the family court system in Colorado.
